Pedestrian struck by car near Horsham dies

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in West Sussex.

It happened on the southbound carriageway of the A24 near Horsham at about 14:00 BST, police said.

The road was closed in both directions between the B2237 Worthing Road/Hop Oast park and ride roundabout and Mill Straight.

It remained shut for several hours while officers examined the scene. Traffic was diverted via Southwater village.
