A man who fell through the skylight of a hostel in Brighton has died in hospital, Sussex Police has revealed.

Ian Brown, 48, and a resident at the Grapevine hostel, fell about 20ft (6m) through the roof into a basement of the building in Middle Street.

He was treated for serious head injuries at King's College Hospital, south-east London, following the fall on 3 June but died two days later.

Sussex Police said had an inquest had been opened and adjourned.

It is thought Mr Brown was wearing only a T-shirt when he fell.
