Jeremy Forrest child abduction trial starts

The trial has started of a 30-year-old Sussex teacher accused of abducting one of his pupils.

Jeremy Forrest, who taught at Bishop Bell C of E School in Eastbourne, denies child abduction.

The trial of Mr Forrest, of Chislehurst Road in Petts Wood, south-east London, is due to last two weeks.

The jury at Lewes Crown Court was sworn in on Monday and the prosecution opened its case, details of which cannot yet be reported for legal reasons.
