East Grinstead cemetery rape: Man charged

A man has been charged with the rape of a woman in a cemetery in West Sussex.

The victim, in her 20s, was attacked at Mount Noddy Cemetery, on a path between Moat Road and Badgers Way in East Grinstead, at 02:00 BST on Saturday.

Tyrone Carr, 27, of High Street, East Grinstead, has also been charged with possessing an offensive weapon, namely a glass bottle.

He was remanded in custody by Crawley magistrates to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 18 June.
