More jobs expected to go at Rother District Council
More jobs are expected to be cut at Rother District Council in October following an announcement that the chief executive post will be axed.
Chief executive Derek Stevens will be leaving the East Sussex council and senior management positions are to be reduced from nine to six.
The latest redundancies aim to save the council more than £200,000.
The authority said it needed to save £1.5m over the next two years and had already cut more than 30 posts overall.
It is unclear which jobs will be affected in the autumn, but the announcement is expected once the senior management positions have been decided.
The current nine senior managers will be invited to apply for the six remaining positions. The chief executive post will be replaced with two executive directors.
Councillor Carl Maynard said: "By making these difficult choices, we are endeavouring to ensure that our front line services are protected for those who need them most."
