St Leonards flats fire 'started in pushchair'

A fire at a block of flats in East Sussex which left three people needing treatment in hospital is believed to have been started deliberately.

The residents of the block in West Hill Road, St Leonards were taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings suffering from smoke inhalation.

A total of 13 people had to be led to safety after the fire started at 21:10 BST on Wednesday.

It is thought to have begun in a pushchair in the communal hallway.

Sussex Police said officers were treating the blaze as arson.

The residents taken to hospital have now been allowed home, Sussex Police said.
