Four arrested over knifepoint burglary in Shoreham

Four people have been arrested after a man in his 70s was threatened with a knife during a burglary in Sussex.

Sussex Police said the victim was assaulted and had his watch and cash stolen during a break in at his home in Rectory Road, Shoreham, on Tuesday.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries to his hands and face.

An 18-year-old man, a 55-year-old man, a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

Det Con Christopher Merryfield-Day, of Sussex Police, said: "This was a very distressing incident for the victim who was very shaken and we are working to support him.

"We have arrested four people in connection with the incident but are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone who has information about what happened."
