Boy seriously injured in Worthing motorbike crash

A nine-year-old boy is in hospital with serious head and leg injuries after he was hit by a motorbike in Worthing.

Sussex Police said the crash involving a Suzuki motorcycle happened in Romany Road on Monday afternoon.

The child was airlifted to Southampton hospital where he remained on Tuesday. The motorbike rider was taken to Worthing hospital with a serious arm injury and was later discharged.

Anyone who saw the incident at about 14:00 BST is urged to contact police.

The road was closed for about three hours while police investigated the collision.
