Shot Seaford man Paul Allwright denies attempted murder

Paul Allwright Paul Allright denied attempted murder and possessing a shotgun with intent to endanger life

A man who was shot by police after a six-hour standoff in East Sussex has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder.

Paul Allwright, 63, of Seaford also denied possessing a shotgun with intent to endanger life in the incident on 16 September.

He was remanded in custody by Lewes Crown Court to await trial beginning on 10 April.

Mr Allwright, who is retired, was hit three times during the incident in North Way, Seaford.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating Sussex Police's use of firearms
