Hastings fire station wins reprieve from closure threat

East Sussex Fire Authority has announced it has decided not to close a fire station in Hastings.

Proposals were put forward in September to either close or downgrade the Ridge Fire Station.

Campaigners collected more than 5,000 signatures against the proposal and a 12- week public consultation has now finished.

Conservative MP for Hastings and Rye, Amber Rudd, said she was "delighted" the fire station will remain.
