Hastings robber targets three people at knife-point

An armed robber who targeted three people in an East Sussex town on the same night is being sought by police.

All the victims were approached by the man, who was wielding a knife, in the same vicinity of Hastings on Saturday.

He first targeted a couple in Victoria Avenue at about 19:30 GMT, fleeing with the woman's bag and the man's phone.

Three hours later, at the junction of Victoria Avenue and The Ridge, he told a woman to hand over her bag, but she managed to get away without doing so.

Sussex Police said the woman sought help from assistants at a local garage.

The offender was described as white, aged in his 30s, of slim build and wearing dark clothing.

No-one was injured.

Anyone who witnessed the robberies, in particular the driver of a car seen close to the scene of the second incident, has been asked to contact police.
