A man had to be resuscitated after being rescued from a fire at a block of flats in Worthing.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called after an off-duty policeman noticed smoke coming from a third floor window at Clarence Court, in Brighton Road, on Saturday afternoon.

A man in his 60s was found unconscious on the living room floor and was resuscitated by paramedics.

It is believed the fire started in the kitchen.
