Brighton woman critically injured in fire at her home

A woman in her 50s is in a critical condition in hospital after a fire at her home in Brighton.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said she suffered serious injuries during the blaze in Park Crescent at about 23.20 GMT on Wednesday.

The woman was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital where her condition is described as "critical but stable".

A fire service spokeswoman said the cause of the blaze was being investigated.
