Pedestrian, 75, hit by car in Crowborough dies

A 75-year-old pedestrian has died after she was struck by a car in East Sussex.

Sussex Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene on the A26 Eridge Road, in Crowborough.

The driver of a Mercedes involved in the incident, a 72-year-old man from Wadhurst, was uninjured.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, which happened north of the Boars Head Inn at about 17:50 GMT on Monday, is asked to contact police.
