'Lost' woman dragged into Brighton alleyway

A man who dragged a 26-year-old woman into an alleyway in Brighton is being sought by police.

Sussex Police said the victim was approached in Dyke Road after getting lost at about 03:40 GMT on Sunday.

The woman fought with her attacker and screamed, which alerted local residents, and the man fled the scene when one person banged on a window.

Officers said the motive was unclear but the incident was being treated as an assault and robbery.

The woman was dragged into an alleyway that runs between Bliss hairdressing and Seven Dials Osteopathic Clinic near the junction with Compton Avenue.

Her mobile phone was stolen in the attack, and she was left shocked and distressed, police said.
