Plans for what developers in East Sussex claim will be one of world's "largest" waterparks are being shown to residents of Newhaven.

The company behind the project, Round Table Entertainments, said it has backing from investors based in Kuwait.

It would cost an estimated £350m, span six hectares and include a hotel.

Lewes District Council said the project would not be given the go-ahead without a public consultation. Plans are on show at the Hillcrest Centre, in Lewes.

A spokesman for Round Table Entertainments said: "Visitors can expect something that has never been done before in the UK.

"We're not just talking about a swimming pool or a couple of slides."
