East Grinstead man hit by car on A27 near Arundel dies

A 52-year-old man died when he was hit by a car on the A27 near Arundel in West Sussex.

The man, from East Grinstead, was hit by a blue Rover 75 on the westbound carriageway of Arundel Road, Crossbush, at about 01:30 BST.

Sussex Police said the man, who has not yet been formally identified, had died at the scene. The carriageway was closed for about four hours.

The 24-year-old driver of the Rover, of East Sussex, was treated for shock.
