Olympic 2012 turf benefits Battle of Hastings meadow

A green field in East Sussex has been given a slice of the same blend of wildflower turf produced for the Olympic opening ceremony in London.

Kingsmead Meadow, in Battle, is noted for being the site of King Harold's camp the night before the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
