Police have named a man they want to speak to in connection with the death of a man whose body may have gone undiscovered for two months.

Michael Polding, 62, was found at his property in St George's Road, Brighton, on 16 July.

Sussex Police want to question Ricardo Pisano, also known as Brandon Victor Pillay, in connection with the murder, which they believe happened in May.

A post-mortem examination found Mr Polding suffered a number of injuries.

Mr Polding moved to the Kemptown area - a part of the city famous for its gay community - about nine months ago where he felt more comfortable living as an openly homosexual man, his family said.

Sussex Police do not believe his Mr Polding's death was a random attack or linked to any hate crime as a result of his sexuality.

Mr Pisano, who uses the nicknames "Ree" or Ricky", is believed to have walked out of an open prison in New Zealand 10 years ago after being convicted of fraud offences.

He has links to Crouch End, Croydon, Brighton and Southampton.

A 28-year-old man from London who was arrested on suspicion of Mr Polding's murder in July is due to answer police bail on 23 August.
