Sussex Police sergeant sacked for inappropriate behaviour

An East Sussex neighbourhood police sergeant has been sacked for behaving inappropriately to another officer, it has been revealed.

The 40-year-old was dismissed after a disciplinary hearing found him guilty of making inappropriate comments to an officer on two occasions.

The Hastings-based sergeant was also found guilty of inappropriate behaviour to an officer.

Sussex Police said he was suspended in February and sacked after a hearing.

Ch Supt Robin Smith said: "Sussex Police expects the highest personal and professional standards from anyone who works for us.

"We will rigorously investigate any incidents where these standards are not maintained and as in this case, we will take action to ensure the integrity of officers and staff."

The force has just revealed details of the hearing which took place on 28 June.
