A 34-year-old man has denied murdering a father-of-four from Liverpool at a flat in Brighton.

Carlo Dawes, 34, pleaded not guilty at Lewes Crown Court to the murder of Graham Pethard, 37, at a property in Taunton Road on 5 May.

Mr Pethard died from extensive blood loss caused by a knife wound, according to the post-mortem examination.

Mr Dawes, of Taunton Road, is due to face trial at Lewes, Brighton or Hove Crown Court on 22 October.
