DJ Norman Cook to play Brighton's 2012 Pride festival
DJ Norman Cook was the first person to play a concert at Brighton and Hove Albion's new Amex Stadium
DJ Norman Cook - AKA Fatboy Slim - has joined the line up for the 20th anniversary Pride festival.
The Hove resident will team up with Brighton-based DJ duo Freemasons, who have previously played at Sydney Mardi Gras and New York Pride
Pride, which is usually held in August, takes place on 1 September due to pressures from the 2012 Olympics.
In March new organisers were chosen to run the event which attracts tens of thousands of people to the city.
'Shaking my lallies'Cook said: "Thank heavens for the Olympics. After many years of missing Pride because it always fell on the busiest weekend of my year the date has moved to September so I can finally join the fun.
"I am looking forward to shaking my lallies [legs] with the best of them in my home town."
Organisers Michael Deol and Robert Webb said: "We are delighted to announce that Norman will join the Freemasons in playing at the Wild Fruit Dance Tent on 1 September.
"His appearance is a testament to the support that he has always shown to the city of Brighton and Hove and it's LGBT community."
The announcement comes just a few weeks after Cook became the first person to hold a concert at Brighton and Hove Albion's new Amex Stadium.
