Special football match
He is next due to appear at Brighton Youth Court on 15 May, when his case will be committed to Crown court.
Mr Saunders played for Peacehaven Football Club where his father is the first team manager.
His initials and football shirt number were printed on his coffin.
Following his death, a candlelit vigil was held at the site of the attack in Rottingdean and a special football match was played in his memory.
