Detectives investigating the murder of a man who died at a flat in Brighton have named a man they want to speak to.

Officers are searching for Carlo Dawes, 34, of Bevendean, Brighton, in connection with the death of the man at the flat in Taunton Road.

Paramedics and police were called to the property at about 05:20 BST but the man, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The flat remains cordoned off while a forensic examination is carried out.

Det Insp Phil Mays said: "This is a tragic incident involving a small number of people who we believe were acquainted.

"We are keen to talk to Carlo Dawes in order to eliminate him from our inquiries."

He added: "Although the suspect is outstanding we do not believe he is a threat to the wider public and we have committed a large number of resources in the hope of finding him soon."
