Arrest over Bexhill cyclist's 'hit-and-run' lorry death

A man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after a cyclist was killed in a collision with a lorry in East Sussex.

The cyclist, 41, was injured on the De La Warr Road in Bexhill at about 07:00 BST and died later in hospital.

Police said a 60-year-old man from Leeds was arrested in Eastbourne shortly after the crash on suspicion of failing to stop. He remains in custody.

The road was closed for several hours. Police are appealing for witnesses.
