Addlestone body confirmed as missing man James Phelan

A body that was discovered in a Surrey town has been identified as a man who was last seen at a hospital accident and emergency department.

James Phelan, 42, from Chertsey was reported missing the day after he visited St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey on 8 August.

Surrey Police has confirmed that it was his body that was found off St Peters Way in Addlestone on 15 August.

The force said an inquest into his death had been opened and adjourned.
