Children arrested after car overturns in Walton-on-Thames

A 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were arrested on suspicion of stealing a car that was crashed into a lamppost and overturned.

The teenagers were taken to hospital after the Ford Ka was crashed early on Sunday in Walton-on-Thames in Surrey.

The children, from West Molesey, were both arrested on suspicion of aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent.

The boy was also quizzed over driving without a licence and insurance.

Police said they were both taken to St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey as a precaution and have since been released on police bail until 17 September.
