Teenager unconscious after Redhill attack

A teenager was punched and kicked and left unconscious in an attack when three men tried to steal his mobile phone in Surrey, police said.

The 18-year-old lost consciousness for several minutes after the assault as he left McDonald's in Station Road, Redhill on Thursday.

He was taken to hospital after the attack, at 18:00 BST, and discharged later the same evening.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.

The 18-year-old from Merstham and two men aged 18 and 20 from Blindley Heath were bailed until 26 May.

Police appealed for witness to the assault or the build-up to it inside McDonald's to come forward.
