Cannabis factory discovered in Ashford

A man has been arrested after a cannabis factory was discovered at a house in Surrey, police have said.

A member of the public called the force to report a strong smell of cannabis, along with suspicious behaviour at the property in Ashford.

Officers raided the house at 22:00 GMT on Saturday and found about 300 cannabis plants and paraphernalia.

The 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the cultivation of cannabis.

He is currently in police custody, a police spokesman said.
