Boy charged with Oxted murder of teenager Elizabeth Thomas

A teenage boy has been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old girl who was found stabbed to death in Surrey.

The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of killing Elizabeth Thomas, whose body was found in a flat in Oxted last Friday.

The boy has appeared at South East Surrey Magistrates' Court and is due at Guildford Crown Court on Monday.

Elizabeth had been studying for her A-levels at Oxted School.

Earlier this week, her family paid tribute to her and said their lives had been "broken beyond repair".
