A car passenger punched a boy off his bicycle and then dragged him by his helmet into the middle of a country lane.

The 17-year-old victim was attacked in Combe Lane, near Shere, in Surrey.

He was overtaken by a silver Vauxhall, which then stopped ahead of him. The passenger got out and started shouting at the cyclist, before hitting him.

He was then kicked on the ground before being dragged into the road. The attack happened at 16:20 BST on Tuesday.

The suspect is described as a white man, in his early 20s, 5ft 10in tall, of a medium build and with a shaven head.

PC Nick Sharpe, from Surrey Police, described the attack as "diabolical and unprovoked".
