Illegal workers arrested at Woking restaurant

Three workers who entered the country illegally have been sent to a detention centre after they were arrested at a restaurant in Surrey.

Two women, aged 19 and 22, and a man, 30, all from Albania, were held after immigration officers raided Bellini Restaurant in Hermitage Road, Woking.

They are awaiting removal from the UK.

The Home Office said the firm could be fined up to £10,000 per worker if it cannot prove the right checks were carried out.

Another man, 33, who did not have the right to work in the UK, was also found at the restaurant.

His case is currently under consideration, the government spokesman said.
