M25 in Surrey repaired after lorry blaze

Lorry fire The fire destroyed the lorry and also set light to the motorway's side barrier

Repairs have been carried out on a section of the M25 in Surrey after a heavy goods vehicle caught fire.

Three of the five lanes had to be closed between junctions 13 and 12 (for Staines/Egham and the M3) after the fire broke out on Friday afternoon.

The Thorpe bypass was also closed as a precaution and motorists in the area faced delays of up to three hours.

No-one was injured in the blaze, which was so fierce that it ignited the motorway's side barrier.
