Man charged after woman raped in Whyteleafe park

A man has been charged with rape after a woman in her 20s was attacked in a park after a night out.

Surrey Police said the woman was raped at Whyteleafe recreational ground, Whyteleafe, Surrey, in the early hours of Saturday.

Colin Andrew Ford, 58, from Fernhurst Road, Croydon, has been remanded in custody to appear at South East Surrey Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Police said the woman is being supported by specialist officers.
