Surrey Sports Park has been awarded £116,000 of National Lottery funding to help get more people involved in sport.

The University of Surrey-owned centre's new project, Game on Guildford, is one of 32 around the country to get a share of a £5.1m pot.

The project will see pay-as-you-go sport sessions, coaching courses and social sports leagues introduced in various locations in the borough.

It will formally launch in June.

The programme is being delivered in partnership with Sport Guildford, the University of Surrey and Guildford Borough Council, who are together providing £175,000 over three years.
