Thousands of pounds is to be spent on redeveloping a skate park in Surrey after repeated criminal damage caused it to become unsafe.

Equipment at the Mill Lane skate park in Hurst Green was removed a week ago because it had become uneconomical to repair, Tandridge council said.

It said new designs were being developed and it would be funded using £50,000 of local development money.

Local residents and groups will be consulted before final approval.
