A teenage girl from Surrey who had been missing for nearly three weeks has been found "safe and well", say police.

Sophie Nynan, 15, was located by officers in Croydon, south London, on Wednesday afternoon.

She had last been seen leaving her house in Westcott on the evening of 30 March and had not been in touch with her family since.

Surrey Police thanked members of the public for their help in tracing Miss Nynan.
