A 32-year-old man has been jailed for a minimum of 14 years for the "brutal murder" of his partner in Surrey.

The body of 25-year-old Georgina Hackett was found at an address in Dawsmere Close last December.

A post-mortem examination revealed the mother-of-one had died from head and facial injuries.

Daniel Baker, formerly of Dawsmere Close, Camberley, was sentenced to life in prison at Guildford Crown Court.

Det Sgt Sarah Jones, of Surrey Police, said: "This was a brutal crime which has left a young child without a mother and a family devastated by grief.

"The only positive result to come from this sentencing is that this violent individual has been removed from society."
