Surrey Wildlife Trust takes over cattle on Headley Heath
A wildlife trust will take over the management of a herd of cows used to graze rare chalk grassland in Surrey.
The Surrey Wildlife Trust will take over the management of the National Trust herd of cows on Headley Heath, in Surrey.
The cows graze on the course grasses to prevent the area turning to scrub, allowing a greater diversity of plants and animals.
The trust currently grazes cows on the National Trust's Lower Box Hill Farm.
