Surrey man charged with causing GBH at football match

A man in his 40s has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm following a fight at an under-17s football match in Surrey.

Police said the confrontation took place about 14:00 GMT on 13 January at a ground in Thornton Close, Horley.

A man in his 40s suffered serious facial injuries after being hit in the face after a game between Horley Town and Epsom and Ewell football clubs.

The injured man was taken to East Surrey Hospital at Redhill.

The accused man, from Tadworth, is due to appear before South East Surrey magistrates on 8 March.
