Bramley Golf Club trophies stolen
Golf trophies worth thousands of pounds have been stolen in the latest in a series of raids at clubs in Surrey.
Police said three men took the trophies from a cabinet at Bramley Golf Club, in Links Road, Guildford after getting in via patio doors in the lounge.
Nine trophies were discarded in the snow as they left the premises about 22:20 GMT on Friday.
There have been at least eight similar burglaries at golf clubs in the south east over the past six months.
Sell for scrapIn the most recent, in December, burglars forced open a locked wooden trophy cabinet at Tandridge Golf Club in Oxted and got away with 35 trophies.
Surrey Police said they suspect the thieves may be targeting silver golf trophies to sell on for scrap.
Det Con Mike Taylor said the thieves got a high value haul from Bramley Golf Club.
"I am appealing for anyone who may have seen these trophies for sale or been offered the items to buy in unusual circumstances to contact Surrey Police as soon as possible," he said.
Officers said the thieves used a vehicle to enter the golf club from Foxburrow Hill Road.
