Gun and drugs seized in Surrey raids

A gun was seized and suspected cannabis and heroin found in drugs raids in Surrey and south London.

The firearm was discovered at a property off Staines Road, Staines where suspected cannabis was also seized in the raids on Wednesday.

A cannabis factory, with 60 plants and hydroponics equipment was found at an address in Studios Road, Shepperton.

Police raided a total of nine addresses in Staines, Shepperton and Hampton. Eight people have been arrested.

Three women and five men and boys were arrested in Studios Road, the Berryscroft Road area of Staines and the Lindon Road area of Hampton.

Four received police cautions, while three were released on bail pending further inquiries.

A 17-year-old boy was charged with possession of a class B drug.
