Surrey Police: Thrown object smashes train window

A man who threw an object at a moving train and smashed a window is being sought by Surrey Police.

The incident happened in Lingfield on Saturday afternoon as the train travelled from London Victoria to East Grinstead, West Sussex.

Police said the window was smashed as the train went under the railway bridge in Station Road, Dormansland.

Several people who were on the train at the time said they saw a person throwing an object, police said.

The suspect was described as white, aged 18 to 20, with short brown hair, wearing blue jeans, builders boots and a dark grey hooded top.
