Newdigate school coach in road accident

Newdigate coach crash Rusper Road was partially blocked while recovery vehicles were at the scene

A coach carrying children to a primary school in Surrey has been in an accident in which it left the road.

The accident happened in Rusper Road, Newdigate, as the coach was taking pupils to the Weald Church of England school in Beare Green.

The school said seven children were on board the Surrey County Council 35-seater coach. None is believed to have suffered serious injuries.

Parents of the children involved have been informed.

Surrey Police said Rusper Road was partially blocked near Rusper Golf Course while emergency services were at the scene of the accident, which happened just before 08:30 GMT.

The school's website said the bus would run in the afternoon, but operated by a different bus company.
