Police use Taser to arrest man in Great Bookham

A man has been arrested by police using a Taser after a woman and two children were imprisoned in a house in Surrey.

A man barricaded himself inside the property in Proctor Gardens in Great Bookham at 06:30 BST, police said.

Armed officers and mediators were unable to negotiate with the man, and police forced their way into the home at about 12:30 BST.

A 31-year-old man is being held on suspicion of false imprisonment, threats to kill and assault.

Some neighbours were asked to leave their homes as a precaution, but all have been allowed to return to their properties.

Surrey Police said the three inside were believed to be unharmed and were known to the man.
