Surrey awarded £14m to improve bus and cycle services

Surrey County Council has been awarded £14.3m by the government to improve bus services and create better cycle paths.

Plans for a new park-and-ride bus service in Guildford were submitted to the Department for Transport.

Money will be spent on improved pedestrianisation and cycle access to Redhill town centre.

Work into giving buses priority at junctions and providing real-time information at bus stops will also be carried out.
