As the countdown to London 2012 continues, preparations are being made for Olympic events in Surrey.

Annie-Rose Chapman, 14, from Jubilee High School in Addlestone has been chosen to sing at the Olympic torch relay celebrations in Guildford.

She was selected through the Surrey Schools Have Talent competition.

The teenager is getting professional coaching in preparation for her performance at the event.

Also, residents and businesses near the Olympic cycling routes are being sent details about road closures and parking restrictions.

Information is being distributed by Surrey County Council in newsletters which include maps of the race and trial routes and tips for how to make the most of the Olympic events.
