Lowestoft Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo runs with Queen's Baton

9 June 2014 Last updated at 12:43 BST

Olympic medal-winning boxer Anthony Ogogo, from Lowestoft, carried the Queen's Baton on its first leg through Suffolk as the relay arrived in East of England.

The baton relay is spending two weeks touring England before crossing the border into Scotland ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

He said: "It felt different because normally I'm running along the beach by myself in the rain. Today, the sun was shining, I was accompanied by hundreds of kids and it was just lovely.

"It's nice to see everyone getting involved and embracing today."

Geeta Pendse reports.
