Suffolk Police officer to face cyclist assault charge

A Suffolk police officer is to appear at magistrates' court accused of dangerous driving and assault.

The charges follow an incident involving a cyclist on Norwich Road on 14 February.

The 53-year-old officer was not on duty at the time of the alleged offences and has not been suspended, Suffolk Police said.

A location and date for the hearing have not yet been set, a police spokesman said.
