A £2,000 reward has been offered in the hunt for three masked men responsible for an "evil" attack on an 89-year-old Suffolk widow.

Connie Hallford was knocked to the floor when the men broke into her Lakenheath home on 17 February.

She later described her attackers who demanded money as "evil".

The reward is being offered by Crimestoppers whose manager Ann Scott said she was "utterly disgusted" by the attack on Ms Hallford.

"Lakenheath is a quiet, rural town in Suffolk and this incident has shocked residents to the core."

She added that "whilst this elderly woman lay on the floor with blood pouring down her face these men still demanded money from her".

"We need to find those responsible and stop this from happening to other innocent people."

Police said they wanted to speak to anyone who saw a black car - possibly a Vauxhall Astra or similar - in the Back Lane area of the town.
